Water Droplets Motion

Ahoy, Argonauts! Our annual competition for creative kids is back with an epic new theme. Are you ready to join Jason and his crew on their hunt for the Golden Fleece?

The crew of the Argo included some of the boldest and bravest heroes in Greek mythology. Do you like swift Atalanta? Strong Herakles? Musical Orpheus? Or perhaps there's another ancient hero you admire?

The Argonauts Club wants your help capturing these heroes, using the power of art. Painting, drawing, collage, photography... choose any visual medium you like to show your interpretation of this year's theme, Hellenic Superheroes. You could be inspired by the story of Jason and the Argonauts, or any other hero from Greek mythology.

Then simply take a photo or scan of your artwork and submit it using the form below – entries are now open until 5PM Monday 5 October 2026. In the meantime, you can follow the Hellenic Museum for heroic facts and updates, or explore the 2025 Expedition Archive to see how adventurers tackled last year's creative quest.

Good luck on your heroic art-venture!

The Rules

Each participant can submit one artwork. It can be in any visual medium, but must be the participant's own work, and must not contain any AI-generated or copyrighted material. Group entries and video entries are not allowed.

Artworks on paper must use a standard size (e.g. A4 or A3) and leave 1–2cm of space around the edge. (This helps us with displaying the winning entries at the Hellenic Museum!) You can download a printable A4 or A3 guide here.

Entries must be submitted through the below form by 5PM Mon 5 October 2026. Late entries will not be considered.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged by a panel of Hellenic Museum staff, including members of the Education & Curatorial Teams. These judges will not only be looking for technically skilled art – they'll also be searching for original and creative interpretations of the 'Hellenic Superheroes' theme. When crafting your entry, consider:
